Swiping Right Fail

So boom: I tried the online thing. Every date asked was, “let’s go for drinks.” No complaints, I’m fine with happy hour specials.

Similar to the chats exchanged on the yellow app,  appeared live face-to-face. Very surface level, a little gimmicky, and dare I say it - inauthentic. When creating your profile, you’re choosing your best flicks, writing a worthy bio to encourage someone to swipe right and not left but that’s not the real you. I felt that while seated next to those gentlemen with a Jameson and Ginger or Malbec in hand I was getting their Instagram profiles.

Using the rule of 3s, I am saying this based upon three different first dates that did not result in any follow ups. Unless I count the follow ups that include a second date at the house...

So ladies and gents, what is it about this dating experience that yielded no results? Is it the location of the first date? Online dating in general? As it stands, I’m on track forging an authentic little potential something courtesy of person-to-person, and not person-to-profile.

What makes the online thing so popular, moreover, successful?

Sound off in the comments and on our Instagram.
